In December of 2023 Vibe.FX was contacted by a client regarding vibration concerns on one of their primary critical pumping assets that had been causing ongoing issues for 60 months.

During an initial site evaluation it was noted that the base as well as grouting had separated from the concrete inertia block causing sever vibration issues that appeared as looseness on the bolting of the asset. These issues had caused 8% unscheduled process unit downtime and maintenance fatigue.

It was determined that the cause was improper installation practices as per API 686 standards.
Complete demolition of the old base and concrete was completed. 

Reinstallation was completed to API 686 standards providing drastic improvements and longevity to the asset’s life expectancy as well as eliminating potential chemical release to atmosphere / environment.

Based on the success of the reinstallation and improved efficiencies to this particular asset, the client made the decision to perform the same overhaul tasks on the neighboring asset in 2024.
